Guide Guide Vs Griddify

If you are not familiar with Guide Guide or Griddify, they are both Photoshop extensions that fantastically solve a problem that Photoshop users have had for years. The problem that I am referring to is how tedious it is to work with guides. You try to line them up, having to work with each one manually, which is terrible. The worst part is that you may think they are lined up properly, but sometimes you can end up being off by a pixel or two. This is frustrating because it causes your entire layout to be off. Guide Guide and Griddify generate guides, depending on the settings you specify in their interfaces. In the video below, I do a head-to-head comparison of Guide Guide and Griddify. At the end, I evaluate who wins the battle between the two.

Guide Guide

Guide Guide has a lot of positive highlights. I like how there’s a dedicated button for a vertical and horizontal center guide. I also like how there’s a button to clear guides. You’ll also find buttons for everything that you’d probably need, such as border guides, etc.

Griddify

Griddify is an excellent Photoshop extension that streamlines guide creation. You can dial in numbers for the pixel values between each guide. You can also direct the orientation of your guides with a push of a button. Where Griddify runs away with things though and really stands out is that you can enter multiple values fr your guides, which enables you to create precise, variable grids instantly. You can lay out guide grids in seconds that would normally take you hours. This makes Griddify an essential time saver for Photoshop.
